Temper Tantrums

Grace had a planned hospital visit to check the status of her trach this last week. The trach is doing wonderful and Grace's vocal chords look fantastic. This is good news because it is common for the vocal chords to be damaged when a trach is needed. Grace will go in soon to see if she can get the trach replaced with something that would allow her to use those vocal chords. The other option would be to begin to teach Grace to communicate using her hands and some sort of communication board. Both options are exciting, but Mom is leaning toward putting Grace's vocal chords back to use :)

Grace has been storm free for over three weeks now which is a HUGE praise report. Mom says she still has little episodes now and then. Mom described these minor episodes as more of a "temper tantrum" response to something she does not want to do such as therapy. Mom communicates that therapy is something that needs to be done and directs her to stop. Grace typically responds by stopping! Mom is excited to see this progress and form of communication.

They continue to wean Grace off of more and more medications and Grace continues to become more and more alert! The weaning is going well and quicker than expected.

Please Pray For:
  • Praise that storming has CEASED!
  • Wisdom with trach replacement
  • Continued success with medication weaning
  • A strong and united marriage and family
  • Financial Provision (If you are interested in this area please e-mail info@gracegoodday.com)

Praise God that progress is being made to replace the trach so that Grace will be able to use her vocal cords.

Praise God that Grace is storm free and that she responds to Mom's commands to stop episodes of protest to uncomfortable situations.

Praise God for the therapy Grace is receiving.

Praise God that Grace is being weaned off more and more medications quickly and for her alertness.

Praise God for Mom and Dad's strong united marriage and family.

Praise God that Grace is quickly returning to normal.

If God is for Grace and her family, who can be against them.

Praise the Lord for He is good and his mercy endures forever.

Shalom = peace - nothing missing, nothing broken.

Praise God for the senses that are working well. I ask for wisdom for Mom, Dad and doctors to decide what the best way is to return speech to Grace.

Praise God for an end to the storming. Praise God that she has the self-control to obey Mom and Dad even when therapy is hard.

Praise God for less medications.

I ask that Grace would grow in wisdom and stature into a woman who is pleasing to God and approved by men.

In Jesus' name I pray. Amen

Praise God that Grace is completely healed by Jesus' stripes. No weapon formed against her shall prosper.

Praise God for all of the healing God has already done in Grace and for what he continues to do daily.

Praise God that Grace is receiving therapy and that she is able to do more things each time.

Praise God that the trach will soon be removed permanently and that her lungs and bronchial system is healed.
