"Hope is allowed on this floor"

Grace has moved to the Rehabilitation floor and I feel that mom's comment, "Hope is allowed on this floor" sums up her thoughts perfectly. Mom reports that it is a totally different atmosphere. Grace is receiving a lot more attention and time. She has a daily schedule which includes physical, occupational and speech therapy. The medical staff on this floor agree with Mom and Dad whole heartily that "no one should say anything in front of Grace that we wouldn't want her to hear". The nurses speak to her when they care for her just like they would any three year old little girl. Mom and Dad are greatly encouraged by this fresh perspective - prayers are being answered left and right!

Medically, Grace is doing about the same. Her storming seems to be improving some and the nurses on this floor have encouraged Mom to hold and rock her when she storms. Her feet have "dropped" which basically means they do not stand up when she is laying down due to loss of muscle tone. Therefore, they will be injecting botox and going through a series of casts on her feet to help improve this situation. She has increased secretion with the trach so they are giving her some medicine to help control that.

Mom's day was filled with the medical staff listening to her and beginning to teach her how to care for Grace. They have asked and encouraged her input with Grace's care. Mom will begin to learn how to care for Grace's trach tomorrow. Once Mom is proficient at this, she will be able to take Grace on walks in a wheel chair.

Mom reported that Grace squeezed her hand twice today. This is something new! The first time it happened Mom said, "Grace I am going to let go of your hand so I can grab a pen" and Grace squeezed her hand. The second time Mom said, "Grace I am going to let go of your hand to answer the cell phone" and again she squeezed Mom's hand. WOW! Mom commented that it was almost as if Grace was trying to tell her Mom, "please do not let go". Mom was hesitant to get too excited about this, but did say the fact that it happened twice was such an encouragement.

The lady taking care of the boys has continued to be such a blessing to the family. She has offered to watch the boys while Mom and Dad go to counseling. She also was gracious enough to offer them to have the boys spend the night one Friday so the couple could have a date night.

Please pray for:
  • Grace to "wake up" and come to full consciousness
  • Grace's brain functioning to be fully restored
  • The nurses/doctors to be greatly blessed for their fresh perspective regarding Grace
  • Storming to cease
  • Balance and endurance for the family
  • Financial provision for the family (If you are interested in helping in this way please e-mail info@gracegoodday.com)

Keep up the comments! You do not realize how much of an encouragement the comments are to the family.

Good Morning Dear Friends,
We are sooooo encouraged with the new floor experiences! God is good and He is giving Grace and mom and dad...and brothers just what they need when they need it! Mom and dad, you will be able to learn Grace's care needs...and our prayer is that the learning process is both encouraging and joyous! We lift up the woman who is caring for the boys...and the nurses/doctors/medical team caring for Grace. We pray for Grace to awaken and not only squeeze your hand but be able to tell you what she needs! Oh God, bring that sweet little voice back to action!
Happy Tuesday! Praise God for His unspeakable gifts!
Hugs,
Lisa and Tim

Grace is rejoicing that she is on the rehab floor where she is being treated as a living, healed child of God.

The physical, occupational and speech therapy are stimulating her brain and her 5 senses to operate as they were designed by God when she was created. Her spirit is being fed as Mom reads The Word to her and holds her in her arms.

I plead The Blood of Jesus over her brain and her body. The Life is in the blood. Life is entering every area that needs healing. Grace is already completely healed, even if we can't see everything yet. Our heavenly Father has stopped the secretion with the trach. There will be no side effects from any medication in Jesus' Name.

How wonderful and healing it is for Grace to be held and rocked by Mom and that she will be able to go on walks in a wheel chair.

Grace has lovely, healed feet and her muscle tone has returned. The dropping is gone in Jesus' Name.

She has wonderful staff on this floor and she hears only words of encouragement and healing. Every day there is major improvement!!!

Thank the Lord for the caregiver for the boys. She is sent by God to bless them and nurture them. Their care is in God's hands.

A very blessed day to Grace, her entire family, and the medical staff.

Lord, I pray a special blessing over this family. Give them a day's strength each day. Fill their life with peace, patience, wisdom and joy. Allow them to see the blessings each child offers to the family. Do not allow them or those who are caring for them to grow weary.

We rejoice over every answer to prayer, large or small. We thank you for the hearts of those who are caring for Grace, that they would continue to treat her like a healthy, listening little girl. We pray that the storms would cease; that new healthy pathways would open in the brain; that her sinuses, throat and lungs would remain healthy; and that her muscles would remain strong enough that she can quickly return to play. Most of all, we pray for a healthy return to consciousness.

In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

My husband and I along with our church and family and friends are standing alongside you with our love and prayers. We see Mighty angels of the magnitude of 50 story buildings alongside Grace and your family. I have been woken from sleep to pray for Grace and we continue in prayer as God lays Grace and your family on our hearts. We are blessed in the knowledge that our God is as close as the breath we take.
I believe in the Power of God's spoken word and in our authority in the name of Jesus Christ to claim that word's power over Grace. I have claimed Psalm 107:20-21 "He sent forth his Word and healed them, he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy."
We have been blessed by reading the postings to Grace's web sit and ask blessings on Jose for each posting, it enables us all over this nation to pray with specific needs in mind. We are in Michigan and I know my cousin's church in Texas is praying too. Thank you for the privilege and the power of our sonship in Christ.
Our daughter is in bible study with your pastor and this is how we have come to know your loving beautiful family.
We send our love and prayers and hugs, we are blessed with each reading of your Grace.
