God's Word Does Not Return Void

I had the privilege of talking to Dad tonight. Mom was busy being her usual productive self preparing the household/family for her gall bladder surgery tomorrow at 9:00am.

The house hunt continues. They have found a house that they love which has a basement and a huge porch. The Realtor is going to work on negotiating with the landlord to come to a price that fits the family's budget.

Grace has had NO storming again today so that is two days in a row! PRAISE GOD! That was the only update regarding Grace's condition, but Dad had a lot of other things to say which I will attempt to summarize.

Dad reported that they both feel a lot more confident that Grace is going to recover after last night. For those of you not at the prayer meeting at the hospital, it included people giving their own healing testimonies, prayer, scripture reading, the elders anointing Grace and her parents with oil and a chance for the parents to talk about the situation and give thanks. Dad said it was amazing how Grace reacted to the prayer in the room. She was the most reactive he has seen her. He said he hadn't seen her do what she was doing unless she had been storming, but she wasn't storming because her heart rate was just fine. She was moving all around side to side, moving her head and her toes!

Dad has been listening to the Bible on tape in the car while he drives to the hospital. Yesterday, he listened to the story in 2 Kings 13:21 "Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man's body into Elisha's tomb. When the body touched Elisha's bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet." It caught Dad by surprise in how much it related to Grace's situation and he took note of it. Then at the prayer meeting last night someone brought up that very same scripture. This was a great encouragement and confirmation to Dad. Dad also talked about how encouraging it was to hear,
"So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:11.

Thank you for all of you who are praying and checking the updates frequently. Just a reminder that the family does read the posts and all the comments. They appreciate the comments and the sheer number of comments tells them people are still fighting alongside them. A simple "I am praying for you" let's them know you are still in this with them. This has been a long battle so far and they need encouragement that we will not give up! So, I am challenging all of you to comment when you read the blog even if it is just a few words. It would be amazing if EVERYONE who read the blog tomorrow (Friday) would comment because I do not think ANYONE (including the family) realizes how many people are in this with them.

Please Pray For:
  • Praise for the huge turnout for the prayer meeting yesterday
  • Praise for NO storming today
  • Praise for the family being greatly encouraged and refreshed from the prayer meeting yesterday
  • Prayer for mom's surgery tomorrow
  • Prayer for complete restoration for Grace
  • Prayer for favor with the rental home's landlord

Praise God that Grace has stopped storming and that she is doing things she was unable to do before. I thank God that she is completely healed by Jesus' stripes.

Thank God for the prayers that went up for Grace on Wednesday night and for the prayers that are being said daily by many people. If God is for Grace (and He is), who can be against her?

Praise God for the house with the basement and huge porch that the realtor is negotiating for this family.

With God all things are possible. Our God reigns.

Praise God for the confidence that both Mom and Dad feel for Grace's complete recovery. God is more than willing and he is definitely able to completely heal Grace.

Praise God for Mom's successful surgery tomorrow and for her complete and quick recovery. God is on her side.

We are all continuing to pray Mom and Dad for each and every item on the list and those items not listed...and how you Mom and Dad lift us up! Sometimes when we are in "it" we may not realize how we may be a spiritual guidepost for others just through our own faith. That is what I have witnessed of mom and dad who are such ardent believers and pillars of prayer - praise God for you and for Him; Dearest Lord be with Mom today and her docs; be with Dad, Grace and the boys and all of their caregivers! For me, at the chapel and in Grace's room - it was truly the sweetest hour of prayer! In His name, Amen.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Wow! What a powerful confirmation our God reigns! God placed the Elisha story on Tim's heart and he prayed it would confirm God's power, and what a testimony of the dead man's faith that even his bone brought life! Oh that we would all be so faithful!!! And, what a God thing that DAD would have heard and pondered that very scripture and story on his hospital commute the day of the prayer meeting...the life of Elisha was a bold approach toward God...Dad should fully expect the mantle of Elisha, the boldness of Elisha to be upon him, and on us...that we plead with the Father in boldness for Grace's complete and total recovery.

Father, we ask now that the surgeon and the care team who will complete mom's gall bladder surgery will be at their very best today. Give speedy recover and complete healing for mom and Grace. We love you Lord and we give it all to you...in the precious and holy name of Jesus...Amen.

Grace and Family,
Although the Blanchards could not be at the prayer meeting the other night, we were praying from our home. We are so blessed to be a part of the family of Christ and a group of believers who are daily and hourly lifting our little Grace up and not letting go until He blesses us with a miracle.
Family, we are praying for this home for you, for financial provision, for Mom's surgery today, for peace as I'm sure all of these details are so stressful!! The enemy is trying to use all of these things to bring you down and we are so proud of you that you are not wavering in your faith and in your strength. We love you and are continuting to stand with you in prayer and in faith!--so many people are--so many that don't even know you!! Love, The Blanchards

We've been praying from the beginning from Boston. Thank you Lord for hearing and answering our many heart-felt prayers.

As you Jesus wept and showed compassion to Lazarus's sisters, we ask that you would have mercy and return Grace fully and completely restored to her brothers and parents.

Thank you LORD.

We love you guys and continue to lift you, the boys, and Grace up in prayer!! I am so thankful for your powerful testimony of faith in the God we worship, Who is sovereign, full of grace and compassion, Who loves us more than we can truly fathom, and Who shows up (suddenly!) when we trust Him to do so.

We are "friends of friends of family" and we are praying for complete healing and restoration for precious little Grace. Another friend of ours, a Marine who is serving in Iraq, has told us that he checks the website and prays daily for Grace. He has been deeply moved by her story, and as a husband and father of two young children, he is "bearing Dad's burden" with him. So, be encouraged: people all over the world (even in a war zone!) are praying for a MIRACLE for Grace. We know that your family will give our awesome God all the honor and glory and thanks for that indescribable gift! Keep your eyes on Jesus. HE IS MIGHTY TO HEAL!!!!!!
