Going up and down the slide

Tonight's title comes from mom's memory of Grace at the park. She went to the park today with Grace's brothers. The oldest brother climbs up the steps, reaches the top, and starts to slide down. He then hangs on for a moment to the bars at the top of the slide before letting go. Then once he reaches the bottom, he asks mommy where the stairs are again, as if he somehow didn't remember from the last 9 times he went down the slide.

Grace used to hang on at the top of the slide too.

Grace had a rough day today. She's still in rehab, and had a calm morning until 11am. At 11am, the teams tried to do therapy, which kicked off a storming episode that lasted for 9 hours and hadn't stopped by the time when mom called us.

The new pediatrician continues to be involved and take charge. While the ICU doctors seem to go for the "long ball" in diagnosing all kinds of "exotic" infections, the pediatrician is more experienced with people in Grace's situation, and is willing to consider a possible need to mitigate less dramatic situations such as reflux.

Mom continues to be convinced that Grace is experiencing short periodic seizures, which mom's research shows is more detrimental to Grace's health than storming. This is an elevated concern now, because the pediatrician hasn't seen and isn't convinced that there have been any "seizures," suspects that Grace's anti-seizure medicine could be contributing to the storming. This leaves mom with the odd challenge of first convincing the pediatrician that there was seizure and second to change the seizure medication. It's been an uphill battle.

Add to that, the fact that Grace is "stable" for her current condition, and thus doesn't belong in ICU. however, The storming is more than the rehab team is used to, so their inclination is to send Grace back to ICU. They called mom tonight saying that they gave her 2 doses of a narcotic that failed to stop the storming. Any more narcotic may affect Grace's breathing and make her go back to a respirator. They admit that they're not totally sure what to do next.

Add to that the facts that mom and dad are already tired, Mom's gall bladder started acting up again last night, and mom is beginning to wade through the mountain of bureaucracy necessary to retrofit their car with accommodations for Grace.

Mom once again said how much comfort she feels at how many people are praying for Grace! Keep the comments coming!

Please pray for:

  • Complete healing for Grace!
  • Financial provision (If you are interested in helping in this area please e-mail info@gracegoodday.com for more information.)
  • Healing for mom's gall bladder
  • Peace for the family

Mom, you know about my daughter's seizure disorder, we have touched on it briefly. Reading todays entry by Jose reminded me that until the doctor witnessed Ally's seizure with me(Ally was connected to an EEG) there had not been a clear diagnosis.
After years of an unclear diagnosis(Ally was 5 when the seizures started), we were finally able to BEGIN to control it with meds. That in itself was challenging.
Continue to pursue your research and be strong on what you believe is going on with Grace.
Continuing to pray for your family
with love, Pam

I praise God in the midst of the battle. Praise stops the enemy. He is bound and cast out in Jesus' Name. God is greater than any problem Grace is experiencing. Seizures and storming have to stop in Jesus' Name. I plead the blood of Jesus over Grace. The blood protects her continually.

Our prayers are being answered no matter how things look. Greater is Jesus who is in Grace than he that is in the world. No evil shall befall her; neither shall any plague come near her dwelling.

I bind storming, seizures, infection and anything that has come against Grace and loose God's power and strength for her health.

I pray for God's wisdom, knowledge and understanding for Mom and Dad, Dr. L and the medical team to make right decisions concerning Grace. She is completely healed in Jesus' Name. We will receive the report of the Lord above the circumstances which are subject to change by the Word of God. His report says she is healed.

I cast all of the cares upon the Lord because He cares for Grace and all people concerned. His perfect love casts out fear.

Oh precious one, whom we adore and worship and thank for this very life we have, and our choices....please Dear Lord, let the questions be answered, let the path be smoothed, let the waters calm. Our hearts, our minds, our spirits are so entwined with your word as we are embodied with Him, your Son. Peace for our Grace and your loving, healing, gracious touch and wisdom for the medical care providers. In His name, our Lord Jesus we pray, Amen.

Mom and Dad, your Aunt and Uncle who live in St.Louis are members of my church care group. I was with Aunt when she received the call about Grace's accident. My prayers have been with Grace and your family from the start.

One of the postings said you would like to hear encouraging miracles of healing. I will tell you about my aunt who was diagnoised with cancer at age 32. The surgeon opened her up only to close her again saying there was too much cancer to even attempt to remove it all. The prognosis was poor. She had been prayed for by laying on of hands a few times and she was constantly in the Word. She asked God for his healing touch and believed in his healing miracles. She told God if healed all those people, she was sure he could heal her too.

One evening after attending a healing service, a member of the church told her a "seed" of healing had been placed within her. He warned that Satan was going to do all in his power to take it away from her by bring in doubt. And that was true, she was consumed in fear for several days afterward.

But, God is true to his word and it does not return void. My aunt did not "feel" healed, but God told her to ask for another CT scan to check the status of the cancer. The x-ray tech told her the first scan was not clear and they immediately did another scan. The second scan confirmed the miracle of God's intervention, there was NO sign of cancer!

My aunt's cancer was diagnosed 20 years ago and it has never came back. She tells her story for all who will hear what God has done for her. She said during her fear and doubt, God gave her the story of Peter walking on water. If Peter kept his eyes on God, he did not sink. The minute Peter looked to away from God and saw the storm around him, he began to sink and become overwhelmed. So keep your eyes on God and his promises. Do not look left or right.

Chris

We continue to lift little Grace up in prayer. May our heavenly Father deliver wisdom to the doctors and caregivers and courage to mom and dad. In the powerful name of Jesus with the cleansing of His precious blood return all health and healthy healed pathways for all of Grace's brain activity. Lord, deliver confidence, trust and faith for mom and dad. Our love and support continue around you.
Love, Robin
