Mom stayed the night in the hospital to keep a watchful eye on Grace and her possible seizures. Thankfully, mom was able to train the Patient Attendant to watch for the possible seizure signs so mom could at least catch a cap nap before returning to the boys and her household chores.
Mom and the patient attendant were able to document two incidents that they believe were seizures when the EEG was hooked up to Grace. Now, the wait is on for neurology to read the results. The 24 hour watch ended at 10am this morning and when I talked to mom at 8:30pm neurology had not gotten back to her yet.
The episodes that mom expects are seizures cause Grace to be abnormally unresponsive immediately following the episode. This is unsettling to mom and is very different than the storming.
The 24 hour vigil was not without humor though. A nurse came in and washed her hands after taking care of Grace. She accidentally left the water running. Mom was in bed holding Grace and Grace was hooked up to the EEG, therefore, mom could not move Grace without the help of a nurse for fear of the EEG becoming disconnected. All of the sudden mom noticed the water running and also saw that it was soon going to overflow the sink. She tried to get to the page button, but with Grace in her arms she could not do it without possibly disconnecting one of the EEG probes. She layed there now staring at the sink indeed overflowing onto the floor, but she could not move. She was able to reach the phone though. She called down to the main help desk because that is the number she could remember and asked to be transferred to Rehab. They were quite confused and said "you are in Rehab" - she was becoming increasingly frustrated due to the flooding and said "I know - I do not have time to explain just transfer me to Rehab" so they did. She also noted that she did not have the time to be on hold or transferred six times before they got it right - that it was very important they got her right to rehab. So, Rehab answered and she said "Hi - I am in Grace's room could you come in" - they were obviously quite confused and started to ask questions. She said - just get over here. The nurse shows up and sees the flood and was quite embarrassed. Well, needless to say that nurse left Grace's room the rest of the night using hand sanitizer rather than washing her hands in the sink! It is good to see the humor even when times are tough :)

Praise God in everything for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I bind seizures, storming, and the root causes of them, and cast them out in Jesus' Name. I invite the Holy Spirit to work on these symptoms and to stop them from operating. The Holy Spirit dwells in Grace and her body and her immune system are healed.
I pray for favor for Mom and Dad with the medical staff and for the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding for them to do only what is right for Grace.
I bind any strife, division, or unforgiveness that may have occurred in Jesus' Name and loose the love and forgiveness of God to each person. Faith works by love.
I pray for rest, love, joy, and peace for Mom, Dad, Grace, and the medical staff.
Grace is filled with God's love, joy, peace, strength, health and hope in Jesus' Name. She is healed by Jesus' stripes.
Give praise and worship to the Lord continually. Jesus is Lord.
